DOT Price Jumps 6% As Polkadot Announces On-Chain Treasury Investments

Polkadot (DOT) is gaining pace above the $5.25 resistance against the US Dollar. The price could surge further toward the $5.85 and $6.00 levels. DOT is gaining pace above the $5.25 resistance zone against the US Dollar. The price is trading above the $5.30 zone and the 100 simple moving average (4 hours). There is a key bearish trend line forming with resistance near $5.55 on the 4-hour chart of the DOT/USD pair (data source from Kraken). The pair could gain bullish momentum if there is a close above $5.55 and $5.60. Polkadot Price Regains Strength After consolidating above the $5.00 support, DOT price started a decent increase. The price was able to clear the $5.20 and $5.25 resistance levels to move into a positive zone, like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Polkadot cleared the 100 simple moving average (4 hours) and tested the $5.60 resistance. A high is formed near $5.58 and the price is now consolidating gains. It is up nearly 5% and shows signs of more gains in the coming sessions. DOT price is now trading above the $5.30 zone and the 100 simple moving average (4 hours). Immediate resistance is near the $5.55 level. There is also a key bearish trend line forming with resistance near $5.55 on the 4-hour chart of the DOT/USD pair. Binance Removes Additional SOL, MATIC, SHIB & 30 Other Key Liquidity Pools

In a recent investigative report by the media outlet Unlimited Hangout, serious allegations were made against Noah Perlman, the chief compliance officer of Binance.  The report highlights Perlman’s alleged ties to the collapse of FTX, the troubled Gemini exchange owned by the Winklevoss twins, and even convicted and deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. If the allegations made by the media outlet prove true, and Perlman is investigated by US authorities, Binance could find itself embroiled in another executive scandal following the departure of former CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ). Associations With Epstein And Alleged Fraud  Unlimited Hangout alleges that Perlman’s father, Itzhak Perlman, a renowned violinist, had flown on multiple occasions on a plane owned by Jeffrey Epstein. Itzhak Perlman also reportedly accompanied Epstein to Michigan’s Interlochen Center for the Arts, where Epstein later built a lodge for him, which was later described as a “lair to target girls.”  While Noah Perlman served as a federal prosecutor for the Department of Justice’s Special Coordinator for Crimes against Children, these family connections to Epstein raise questions about his associations. After leaving the Department of Justice, Perlman joined Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange owned by the Winklevoss Twins, as the chief compliance officer. Although Perlman had left Gemini months before the New York Attorney General filed a lawsuit against the exchange, he had been allegedly “heavily involved” in Gemini’s Earn program, which became the focus of the alleged $1.1 billion fraud.  Related Reading: Analyst Thinks DOT Will Reclaim Former Glory With Polkadot 2.0 As reported by NewsBTC, the lawsuit alleges that certain individuals knew that the program’s partner, Genesis, was financially unstable and withdrew their funds before its collapse. Per the report, Perlman held the position of chief operating officer at the time, raising suspicions about his role in the alleged misconduct. Troubled Bank’s Links To Binance Officer And FTX Perlman’s involvement with Farmington State Bank, later renamed Moonstone, adds another layer of complexity to the alleged wrongdoing cited by Unlimited Hangout. According to the report, in 2019, Perlman was listed as a director of FBH Corp., the entity that took over the rural bank. Moonstone Bank later garnered attention when Alameda Research, linked to FTX, acquired an $11.5 million stake.  Sam Bankman-Fried, the former chief of FTX, also reportedly invested $50 million in the bank. However, Moonstone Bank faced regulatory challenges, with the Federal Reserve initiating an enforcement action against it shortly before the Bank of Eastern Oregon acquired its deposits and assets. Overall, Perlman is at the center of serious allegations concerning his alleged connections with Jeffrey Epstein, the failed Earn program at Gemini, and Moonstone Bank.  However, it is important to note that these allegations have not been substantiated by any investigations or official connections made by US authorities or other global agencies.  Related Reading: Unlocking Bitcoin ETF Profits: Experts Reveals “Best” Trading Strategy The claims and allegations put forth by media news outlets require further response from Binance’s executives and investigation by relevant authorities. Even so, the current formation still favors buyers. What’s The Big Deal About Polkadot 2.0 Polkadot 2.0 overhauls certain features as it is currently in the network. However, most importantly, analysts observe that proposed changes could enhance the network’s capabilities and attract more developers.  After the update, Polkadot will migrate from the dynamic block space allocation system, allowing developers to purchase block space as needed, either in bulk or individually. This flexibility could make the network more appealing to various projects. Additionally, Polkadot 2.0 will introduce elastic cores, enabling the network to adapt to varying computing demands depending on use. This adaptability may make the network more efficient. Moreover, it adapts to the diverse needs of developers. Crypto investment products have experienced another week of inflows, bringing the run to nine consecutive weeks of inflows. According to CoinShares’ latest report on digital asset investment funds, inflows into crypto products totaled $346 million last week, with some cryptos receiving more investments than others.  With last week’s numbers, the total value of inflows into crypto investment funds this year now stands at $1.663 billion. Overview Of Institutional Investment In Crypto This Week Although volatile and still in its nascent phase, the crypto market has attracted its fair share of rich visionaries and institutional traders. While companies like MicroStrategy and Tesla are investing on the spot end of things by buying crypto assets, others are getting exposure to assets through exchange-traded products (ETPs). This is particularly good, as institutional backing in ETPs also brings more stability and legitimacy to the space. Bitcoin has been in the spotlight for the past few months, particularly with Spot Bitcoin ETFs waiting to be approved in the US.  Bitcoin ETPs received a total of $312 million in new inflows last week, bringing its total inflows this year to $1.55 billion. At the same time, Ethereum ETPs witnessed an inflow of $33.5 million, a 915% increase from the previous week’s inflows of $3.3 million.  Solana ETPs on the other hand, saw an inflow of $3.5 million, a 74% drop from the previous week’s inflow of $13.6 million. Polkadot and Chainlink also saw inflows of $0.8 million and $0.6 million respectively. On the other hand, short Bitcoin products had outflows of $0.9 million last week, a third consecutive week of outflows. What Is Driving The Institutional Interest? Institutional investments in digital asset products are now at the highest point since the bull market in late 2021. According to CoinShares, the total assets under management (AuM) are now at $45.3 billion. Most of the momentum for this surge came after the announcement of applications of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the US.  Applications of spot Ethereum ETFs joined the list last week, spiking the flurry of inflows into Ethereum ETPs last week to extend a positive four-week run of $103 million. ETPs are still one of the best ways for institutional investors to get exposure to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Despite concerns that the regulatory feud involving Binance might trigger a sell-off of BTC, the report reveals a significant influx of capital into digital asset investment products.  Last week, these products witnessed a notable inflow of $346 million, marking the largest weekly inflows observed during a nine-week consecutive run. The CoinShares report highlights that the surge in inflows can be attributed to the anticipation surrounding the potential launch of a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the United States, which has been eagerly awaited by investors but delayed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The use of exchange-traded Products (ETPs) to gain exposure to the asset class remains significant, with ETP volumes representing 18% of total spot Bitcoin volumes last week. Ethereum (ETH) also experienced a positive shift in sentiment, with inflows of $34 million last week and a four-week run of $103 million. This marks a turnaround from the outflows observed earlier this year.  Furthermore, other cryptocurrencies such as Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), and Chainlink (LINK) saw inflows totaling $3.5 million, $0.8 million, and $0.6 million, respectively. Ichimoku Cloud Predicts Bitcoin Surge To $43,000 In a bold prediction backed by technical analysis, renowned crypto analyst “Crypto Con” suggests that Bitcoin (BTC) is poised for a significant surge in the coming weeks.  Crypto Con claims to have accurately predicted BTC’s previous rise to $38,000 two months before it occurred, using the weekly Ichimoku cloud. Now all eyes are on the completion of the current upward move, with the initial target set at $43,000. For further context, the Ichimoku cloud is a popular technical indicator used to gauge potential future price trends and identify key support and resistance levels. According to Crypto Con, the weekly Ichimoku cloud has projected a bullish cross shortly, indicating that Bitcoin’s upward trajectory is far from over. Based on historical data, Crypto Con notes that the completion of previous Bitcoin rallies following a similar cross has taken anywhere from 7 to 11 weeks, with an average duration of 10 weeks. Consequently, the analyst expects the current move to culminate in early January.
